The simplest Home Media setup is a single central computer connected to a 2011 LG Netcast TV or LG Smart TV Upgrader. You’ll enjoy all the features of Plex Media Server as well as being able to stream media to your iOS or Android mobile device over a wireless network. You can connect a NAS, DAS, internal or external hard drives. It’s also easy to add new Plex clients later on - just wire them to the network, and you have an instant media center.
Ad-Hoc Configuration : Media Distributed Over Several Machines
If you have an area where several people have their own collection of media and don’t want to put it in a central place (like a share house or dorm), install and add media to each Plex Media Server PC. All other Plex clients in the area will be able to share your content if they’re on the same network. In this ad-hoc configuration, you don’t need to worry about any additional network settings. The Plex Media Server on each machine will seamlessly stream content to other clients. Remember, if you’re connecting via a wireless network, streaming HD video will consume most of the available bandwidth!
